Food can be an important ambassador for a country or culture. However, Palestinian food, like many other things, can be political and controversial.
Waves of sorrow
The sea conceals many things. Its deep sounds tell hidden stories, different from games and laughter. It is a solemn, silent sea, carrying songs for those we have lost. A silent threat, an uncertain horizon, it gathers the voices of vanished exiles.
(Peace of) bread
I was “inspired” to create this performance when I saw videos from the flour massacre in Gaza by the end of February 2024. Despite the incident, starving civilians carried flour sacks stained with blood to bring them to their families. Women baked bread in open air, with handmade ovens and distributed it to the hungry civilians.
We shall rise
The rage of the Mares of Diomedes is seen on the fleece, leaving marks of blood all over the surface. The destructive consequences of tyranny and cruelty is very clear. The abuse of power has become something natural, violence is a daily matter and it is normalized.
Saber (cactus)
Saber is a dominant feature of the landscape of historic Palestine. Traditionally, it is planted as demarcations of land boundaries and it is a protective fence at the same time.
Pleasure
Based on the traditional ritual of the ultra Orthodox Jews, when married man and women cannot touch each other, so they have intimate intercourse through a sheet hole.
You don’t look Arab
This is an on going project of photos of Arab women (Palestinian women in Israel) that they have been told that they don’t look Arab. The project deals with stereotypes of how “should” someone look in a racist society.
The Gospel
The transformation of an encyclopaedia volume to a religious book. Sound by Makis Solomos, whispering words from the encyclopaedia volume combined with payers, speeches of the Pope Fancisco on themes of the abuse caused by the cleric.

The palimpsest of love
Gustav Courbet created his famous painting L’Origine du monde in 1866, which can be considered as a feminist artwork. Using this image on verses mentioning women, from the holy books (Bible, New Testament, and Koran) gives it a unique power.
Mystical illusion: The Sacred and the profane
In this version, focusing on gender abuse, I use red sand, on verses connected with the theme of women and the (un) equality that exists in the three religious books, the Bible (in Hebrew), the New Testament (in Greek ) and the Koran (in Arabic); creating my own symbolic center of the three religions.

One of Kandinsky’s ideas was that there are certain fundamental associations between (primary) colors and shapes (square, circle, and triangle). He ran a test on people and found yellow triangle, red square, and blue circle.
Walk in my shoes
Needles are placed inside high heel red shoes insipid by the work of the Mexican artist Elina Chauvet as a protest against women that were killed due to gender abuse.

This performance is focused on the abuse against the gypsy women in Andalusia.A “gypsy” man carries a blind “gypsy” woman while a macho-chauvinist flamenco song is in the background. She is wearing a typical pocadots shirt.
Ave Allah
In the name of “God” and male domination, abuse against women is a normal phenomenon; women tend to accept their destiny because it is God’s will and they do not even dare to question it.

As Berger comments in his book Ways of Seeing about hidden ideologies in visual images (from the point of view of western aesthetics), men tend to look at women as an object which are not allowed to think for themselves; they are constantly under the judgment of men.

Shadows
Shadows is a series of black and white landscape photographs, taken in Stavros Crete. The “architecture” of the landscape and it’s shadows has enigmatic fragments, letting the imagination create its own story.
A-Taraxia
The current video and sound project A-taraxia is a sonic archive. (Αταραξία, a Greek term used by Epicurus to define the state of tranquility, but by separating the A from taraxia, the meaning changes completely and it means the exact opposite).

The marble piece (Wash your Sins), is used as an emblem and an order. It is located in the public-space at the patio of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Seville (which was a convent).

The yellow badge was a symbol of shame and humiliation at the second world war against the Jewish nation. The act of using the badge but instead writing the word Arab is to show how the world today is reacting against the Arab nation.

This action, writing on water the word Democracy in different languages refers to the «power» of the meaning of Democracy nowadays, the significance of Democracy is diluted, leaves no sign in the water.

Happening at Syndagma Square
The Greek Parliament is seen through a ballot box, citizens are asked to cast their vote and throw it inside, so that the building will eventually disappear. The faces of the voters are not seen. The request was to press an opinion about the current political situation of Greece.
The Sotiria project
Memory and illness in the language of art. A project of how illness (narrative of the tuberculosis patients) and memory reflect on Art. In one of the hospital rooms, the performer is experiencing the tragedy and paranoia of the disease.
Mystical illusion
In this performance titled, “Mystical Illusion,” I ”borrow” the Buddhist mandala ritual, using the symbols of the three monotheistic religions of my country: Christianity, Judaism, Islam, to comment on the corrupted influence of the “Divine” on the human perception of the world.
